We have close to 500 undergraduates majoring in one of our many options as well as approximately 40 MS graduate students. We have three full-time departmental support staff to assist both students and faculty with teaching and our biological collections. Our 30 full-time faculty with PhDs not only teach in the classrooms and labs on a daily basis, but also guide both graduate and undergraduate students in independent research projects. Our faculty have expertise that spans all levels of biological organization, from molecular and cellular biology to ecosystem services, with many funded by outside agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency, National Institutes of Health, Earthwatch, and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. We take learning and critical thinking seriously, and expect our students to do the same. Our faculty members are dedicated and caring educators actively engaged in research and concerned about the welfare and future of each and every student. We are proud of the diversity and success of our students. We hope you will take some time to explore the various links on our web site to learn more.
