Stephen Richter's lab is "the best of both worlds at EKU"


Dr. Stephen Richter, professor in the Biological Sciences department at EKU since 2005 and director of EKU's Natural areas since 2019, says his career is the best of both worlds. He "set out to do preservation at an agency or research in the academic world, and now he does both and gets to teach the next generation." 

Professor Luke Dodd's research on bats "serving a need"


Professor Luke Dodd, who has been with the Biological Sciences department since 2014, is spearheading bat ecology research projects here at EKU, with both undergraduate and graduate students. He first became interested in bats as an undergraduate himself, and was "blown away" by how diverse bats are.

Graduating Biology senior recipient of 2020 Florence Hood Minor Award


Senior Biomedical Sciences student Callie Whitus has been chosen as the recipient of the 2020 Florence Hood Minor Award. This award is given to students who are members of the Delta Zeta sorority. Whitus has served as president, among a myriad of other leadership roles, in her three years as a member of the sorority.
